Redheaded Pine Sawfly - Native Pest

In some cases there are exotic pests, insects or diseases that affect trees and shrubs. At Greene’s Tree & Garden our goal, in these cases, is to treat the problem with as little collateral damage as possible. One example is the winter moth that feeds on a wide range of trees and shrubs. Greene’s Tree & Garden utilizes tree and shrub spraying, favoring bio-rational and organic methods to control the insect. In the case of the caterpillars, we use Conserve® SC that only controls caterpillars and the larval stage of some beetles. Thus, the pest is controlled without disturbing other non-target insects.

Integrated Pest Management

For more complex landscapes, Greene's Tree & Garden provides integrated pest management or IPM. This is the scouting or monitoring of plants in the landscape for living and non-living disorders. Living disorders may include insect infestation or disease, while non-living disorders may be excessive mulch build up or lack of proper irrigation. IPM utilizes organic, biological, cultural and physical methods to reduce or eliminate dependency on chemical pesticides. This service is conducted through a series of visits to your landscape.
